REPETITION vs CREATIVITY

I observe the floor plans from floor to floor,

from building to building

within a complex, and I wonder:

are we such staunch advocates of symmetry, of mirrored

design, of consecutive 'mirroring',

of our architectural 'identity',

of budget economy,

or of construction ease?

But does this practice, perhaps,

disarm our creativity?

I wonder yet again:

is there no middle ground?

Might there be slightly more subtle ways

to incorporate our own 'design identity',

our own 'signature' into the 'wounded'

urban space?
