When developing an architectural concept and solution, we take into account not only the shaping of space, but also orientation, the thermal comfort of its future inhabitants, and the circulation within that space.
The same applies to creative writing. We conceive the motivating idea, shape the space — geographically, or even in terms of style — orient the intentions of the key narrative actants, and create, through 'helpers' and 'opponents', the 'thermal comfort' or discomfort of those central figures. Finally, we define the 'circulation' within the literary space, which, through flashbacks and flashforwards, generates the flow of the reading experience.
